One person rescued from Lady Bird Lake near Rainey Street

The person was first pulled from the water breathing but unconscious.

AUSTIN, Texas — One person was rescued from the water at Lady Bird Lake in Downtown Austin on Saturday afternoon.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS), medics responded to the 20 block of East Avenue, near Rainey Street, around 1:15 p.m. The Austin Fire Department and Austin Police Department also responded.

Around 3:25 p.m., ATCEMS said the person pulled from the water was breathing but unconscious. In an update just before 4 p.m., ATCEMS said the person, an adult, was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Later on Saturday, at around 7:30 p.m., medics were called to Lou Neff Road in a separate incident involving a missing person in the water. Just after 9 p.m., the person was found safe. They did not need any medical attention.
