CENTRAL TEXAS — A surge of colder air will move into the area this weekend, allowing for highs only in the low 40s. We will also have a breezy north wind and patchy areas of rain.

The best chance for rain will be Sunday through Sunday night. Moderate showers and isolated thunderstorms will be likely Sunday night.

Expect a brief warmup for Monday (New Year's Eve). New Year's Eve night is expected to be dry, but cold with temperatures in the mid 30s.

Rainfall amounts this weekend will be between one to two inches with most of the rainfall accumulating Sunday afternoon and night.

For the first day on 2019 on Tuesday, expect a partly cloudy sky with highs in the upper 40s.
