All-clear given after APD bomb squad called to suspicious item in North Austin

The item was removed and determined not to be an explosive device, APD said.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) said no explosive device was found after the bomb squad was called to the scene of a suspicious package in North Austin on Monday afternoon.

The bomb squad responded to assist the Travis County Constable at 2015 Cedar Bend Drive, near Metric Boulevard and West Parmer Lane. It is the same address as the Twenty 15 apartment complex.

Law enforcement on the scene told KVUE court papers were being served at the scene where a tenant had moved out and left all their possessions behind.

While the constable was on the scene, a suspicious item was found. The item was removed and determined not to be an explosive device, APD said.

The scene is now clear.

No other information is available at this time.
