Man expected to be okay after rescue from tree in high water near Manor

Medics were initially called to the Manor area for reports that a vehicle was floating in high water.

TRAVIS COUNTY — A man is expected to be okay after he was found clinging to a tree in high water near Manor Wednesday night.

The man was found shortly after 10 p.m. at 9900 Gregg Lane near Manor. There were 911 calls reporting that a vehicle was moving in the water.

Originally, the Manor Fire Department and ATCEMS were going to attempt to rescue the individual by boat.

Crews later rescued him using a rope. Rescuers got in touch with the man, put him in a life jacket and brought him to shore.

Austin-Travis County EMS treated, warmed, dried and monitored the individual in an ambulance.

The man is expected to be okay.
