Celebrating Selena, Alamo Drafthouse to host three days of movie parties

For three days in April, Selena fans can pay tribute to the "Queen of Tejano music" with a Selena-themed movie party at Alamo Drafthouse.

AUSTIN, Texas — In April, fans of Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla will have three days filled with chances to honor her memory while having a lot of fun – at an Alamo Drafthouse movie party.

On April 16, 17 and 18, multiple Alamo Drafthouse locations in the Austin area will be hosting Selena movie parties.

The celebrations will consist of a screening of the 1997 film "Selena," starring Jennifer Lopez and Edward James Olmos. The theater will provide themed props for fans to use during the film, along with a lyric sheet to help you sing along to her hits like "Como La Flor" and "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" – that is if you don't already have them memorized by heart.

If you arrive early, you'll also get to enjoy a custom pre-show, which Alamo Drafthouse is famous for. This time, it will be dedicated to Selena with clips from her music videos and rare interviews.

The participating Alamo Drafthouse theater locations in the Austin-area include Mueller, Ritz, Lakeline, South Lamar and the Village. Click here for times and tickets.
