Rouse High School teacher accused of inappropriate relationship with student

The teacher was placed on leave on Friday.

LEANDER, Texas — Leander ISD said it placed a Rouse High School teacher on administrative leave after getting reports about an inappropriate relationship with a student.

In a letter to parents, Principal Vincent Hawkins didn't name the teacher but said the district got that report on Friday and put the teacher on leave the same day.

In an update on Tuesday, Feb. 27, Leander ISD confirmed the teacher is Brandon Matthew Hopp. He is charged with sexual assault of a child.
