The incident was brought to the district's attention after students at Cedar Park Middle School reported inappropriate use of technology by a district employee.

AUSTIN, Texas — An employee with the Leander Independent School District (ISD) has been put on leave after an alleged incident that happened during an eighth grade field trip.

School leaders haven't revealed much information, but the incident was brought to their attention after students at Cedar Park Middle School reported inappropriate use of technology by a district employee.

The school's principal said that the employee was immediately removed from the area and placed on administrative leave. The principal also contacted the Cedar Park Police Department, and police said they received a report about the incident.

Officials with the district did not provide details on what the incident was.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office said there was a 911 call for service at the Volente Beach Resort & Waterpark and a deputy responded, but "no criminal offense was committed, so no report was filed."
