Husband speaks out after missing Kyle woman's body found in Bastrop; man faces charges

He started crying when he said "his love for the baby will not compare to the love the mother would have given the baby."

BASTROP, Texas — The body of a Kyle woman who has been missing since late February has been found in Bastrop County, and a man has been charged in connection to her death, the Bastrop sheriff's office said.

The City of Kyle said Yuridia Anaya-Espinosa Nava had been reported missing on Feb. 23 after relatives said she never returned home after leaving for work on the morning of Feb. 22. Her car was found a week later at a convenience store in Austin.

Officials said after hundreds of hours of investigative work, her body was found in Bastrop County off of Lower Elgin Road on March 26.

Santiago Anaya, the woman's husband, said the past few weeks have been a nightmare.

"At the beginning of the search, they had told him that maybe his wife had abandoned him and his baby, which he knew deep down that was not true. She would have never left her baby behind," a family member translated for Anaya.

Anaya and his wife have a six-month-old boy.

He started crying when he said "his love for the baby will not compare to the love the mother would have given the baby."

The family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs and costs of care for the baby.

Tomas Sanchez-Solorzano, 34, has been charged with murder in connection with her death. He is being held in the Bastrop County Jail on a $500,000 bond and an ICE detainer. Bastrop's sheriff office said he is "an illegal Alien from Guanajuato, Mexico."
