Woman arrested by task force after allegedly stabbing man to death at Austin hotel

Austin police determined during their investigation that the man was stabbed a few days before his body was discovered inside a hotel room.

AUSTIN, Texas — A woman has been charged after a man was found dead in a hotel room earlier this month.

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), 25-year-old Indira Zink was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on Friday, Feb. 23, in connection to 54-year-old Robert StJohn's death.

Following a welfare check, police found StJohn dead with an apparent stab wound inside a room at the InTown Suites on Research Boulevard near US 183 on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

During APD's investigation, officers determined StJohn was with a woman, identified as Zink. Surveillance footage and evidence collected at the hotel led them to determine that StJohn was actually killed on Monday, Feb 19.

The deadly stabbing is being investigated as Austin's ninth homicide of 2024.
