Four people have been arrested after police responded to an alarm call at a Pflugerville Best Buy early Wednesday morning.
According to the Pflugerville Police Department, officers arrived at the Best Buy in the Stone Hill Town Center shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday. A ladder and broken glass were found in front of the store and officers established a perimeter. An arrest affidavit stated officers were aware of "numerous" burglaries that have occurred in the area of the last month.
The suspects’ vehicle was located behind the store. Officers attempted to stop the car, but it fled at a high rate of speed and crashed on Kelly Lane when it missed a turn in the road. The four people in the vehicle fled on foot and were later apprehended. The Travis County Sheriff's Office and Texas Department of Public Safety Aviation Unit assisted in locating and arresting the four, identified as Malcolm Henderson, 24; Anthony Sanks, 26; Trevon Campbell, 22; and Leandre Hill, 26.
Police said three large duffel bags were found in the car's trunk with laptops and tablets inside. According to the affidavit, a vehicle belonging to Henderson was parked about 1.5 miles away from the Best Buy, possibly staged as a secondary getaway vehicle.
Online records with the Travis County Jail state the four have been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and burglary of a building. Sanks has also been charged with criminal trespass. Henderson and Campbell's bonds have been set at $25,000. Hill and Sanks are being held on $40,000 bond.
