TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas — A man found with multiple gunshot wounds inside a car has died, according to the Travis County Sheriff's Office.
Officials said late Sunday night, a deputy with the sheriff's office was flagged down by a man parked along Wells Branch Parkway near I-35.
The deputy discovered a 29-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in the back seat of a Nissan Sentra. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old man who alerted deputies was arrested and remains in custody as authorities investigate. Officials said the two men knew each other, but no other details were given.
After further investigation, deputies discovered the Nissan had front-end damage from a recent collision and that evidence suggests the shooting happened in a different area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Travis County Sheriff's Office at 512-854-1444 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477. The sheriff's office said this is their sixth homicide investigation of the year.
