Family fun
This is a terrific treat for anyone with kids courtesy of the Austin Symphony. Every Wednesday during summer they host a Children s Day Art Park. Adults get in for free, children pay just 50 cents. Lemonade costs 10 cents but pretty much everything else is free. We re talking free face painting, storytelling, roaming musicians, crafts and a free concert.

There s another Nature Night event at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center this week. Thursday night s features snakes. Admission is free during the day before the evening s events which run 6 to 9pm. Visitors can meet Tim Cole from Austin Reptile Service and his snakes, learn how snakes hear and what benefits they provide, as well as how to identify poisonous and non-poisonous versions. Last Thursday s Nature Night drew 500+ attendees. Thanks Barbra for the tip!
Movie Deals
The city of Austin has another splash movie night this week. This is a great family event that allows you to enjoy a movie on a hot summer night in the comfort of Deep Eddy pool. This Saturday, July 16th you can see Despicable Me. The regular entrance fee covers the movie and the pool and will cost you between $1 and $3.
The city of Lakeway offers a similar deal with Movies in the Park. This Saturday starting at 8:45pm you can watch How to Train Your Dragon. All you need to do is bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the theater under the stars. They ask that you leave your dogs home. The event is free, but there will popcorn, hot dogs and juice bars available to purchase. If you need more information call 261-7530.
Gas deals

The drug store chain is offering a free $10 gas gift card to ExtraCare Rewards members when they purchase $30 worth of select products. The promotion runs through August 28.
Kellogg's
Do you eat a bowl of cereal every morning for breakfast? If so, you're well on your way to saving on fuel. When you collect 10 UPCs from select cereal boxes and mail them in, Kellogg's will send you a $10 prepaid gas card. Submissions must be received by December 31 and there's a limit of five cards per household. You can see which cereal qualifies for the deal here.
Spa deal

Southwest Airlines is having another airfare sale. You ll find deals for as little as $59 one way. There are even cheaper fares to Houston ($39) and Dallas ($49). These deals must be purchased by Thursday, July 14th.
