CEDAR PARK, Texas — A mini golf experience co-owned by Tiger Woods is aiming for a new location near Austin.
Florida-based PopStroke recently presented plans to expand to Cedar Park during a city council meeting.
The proposed location would be built along East Whitestone Boulevard and C-Bar Trail, bringing with it 80 to 100 new jobs. The venue would feature two 18-hole putting courses along with jumbotrons and large TVs throughout so mini golfers are never too far away from the action.
In addition to the courses, PopStroke will also feature a bar and restaurant. Golfers can use the venue's mobile app to order drinks for delivery while on the course. For those not interested in hitting the links, there will also be an ice cream parlor, a fully-enclosed playground for all ages and games like cornhole and foosball available to play.
"This is another destination for the people of the community, providing more options for people coming into town," Councilmember Mel Kirkland said.
PopStroke's current proposed location in Cedar Park remains in the permitting stages. City leaders are expected to vote on the plan later this month, with the location slated to open in 2025.
PopStroke currently operates 12 locations nationwide, with one location already opened in Texas near Houston and another expected to open this month near Dallas. Eleven more locations are currently in the works, including in northeast Austin, College Station and San Antonio.
