AUSTIN, Texas — The weekend is here and, as always, there are a ton of things going on in the Austin area! From a musical to monster trucks, there's no shortage of fun activities happening over the next few days.
Here’s a breakdown of just some of the events you can attend this weekend.
'90s kids, this one's for you. "Boy Meets World" stars Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and Will Friedle – that's Topanga Lawrence, Shawn Hunter and Eric Matthews, for the unfamiliar – host the podcast "Pod Meets World," where they re-watch and react to the show they grew up on. Now they're taking the show-about-a-show on the road with "The Kids Wanna Jump! Tour," which makes a stop at the Paramount Theatre this weekend.
When: Friday at 7:30 p.m. (Doors at 6:30 p.m.)
Where: Paramount Theatre, located at 713 Congress Ave.
More of a music person? This weekend, you can catch "Tina: The Tina Turner Musical" at the Bass Concert Hall. The show tells the comeback story of the "Queen of Rock n' Roll" herself, through a soundtrack of her most beloved hits. Interested theater-goers have five opportunities to catch the musical over the next few days.
When: Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m
Where: Bass Concert Hall, located at 2350 Robert Dedman Drive
If your kiddos are big fans of lasers, dance parties and, of course, monster trucks, the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow Party just might be the place to be this weekend. The show will roll into the Moody Center Saturday afternoon, with additional performances Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
When: Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (doors at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively) and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. (doors at 1:30 p.m.)
