GEORGETOWN, Texas —
The 25th annual Georgetown Red Poppy Festival kicks off in the city’s downtown square Friday night.
Georgetown is the "Red Poppy Capital of Texas," and the three-day festival celebrates the city's history and poppy season.
There will be music, entertainment, family fun and more than 100 artisan vendors at the event.
Visitors can expect to a kid's zone on Saturday and Sunday with an obstacle course, carnival games, peddle carts and more.
Vendors open at 6 p.m. Friday night, and the the band Dysfunkshun Junkshun is performing at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the Walburg Boys and Silverade will be opening for headliner Easton Corbin.
The Red Poppy Parade is Saturday morning, followed by the annual car show.
Georgetown will wrap up the weekend with the Red Poppy Festival Pet Parade and an aerialist show.
There's free parking and a shuttle that will take attendees to and from Georgetown High School and East View High School.
The festival is free to attend.
