AUSTIN, Texas — The weekend is upon us and, as always, there are a ton of things going on in the Austin area! From beloved characters on ice to events dedicated to Mom, there's no shortage of fun activities happening over the next few days.
Here’s a breakdown of just some of the events you can attend this weekend.
This weekend, the Austin Public Library will host its inaugural Greater Austin Book Festival! Attendees will have the opportunity to meet more than 80 participating authors, get their books signed, shop from local booksellers and check out a variety of panels, workshops and storytime sessions.
When: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Austin Central Library, located at 710 W. César Chávez St.
There's fun for the whole family at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park this weekend! "Disney on Ice Presents: Magic in the Stars" has skated into Central Texas, bringing with it acrobatics, stunts, special effects and, of course, figure skating. The production features Disney favorites like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald and Daisy Duck; characters from newer hit films like "Encanto," "Moana," "Frozen," "Raya and the Last Dragon" and "Wish"; and many more.
Tickets are still available, at a variety of prices.
When: 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday; 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday

In case it slipped your mind: Mother's Day is Sunday. In addition to dozens of local restaurants offering brunch specials, a number of Austin-area spots are hosting mom-themed events that you can take your own matriarch to.
