Forecast: Triple-digit 'feels like' heat; isolated storm chances midweek

Here are the latest updates from the KVUE Weather Team.

AUSTIN, Texas — The switch has flipped in Central Texas, and now we're feeling a whole lot like summertime.  The heat and humidity will feel a bit more uncomfortable throughout Tuesday, as our "feels like" temperatures rise into the triple digits throughout the region. Actual high temperatures will be in the lower to mid-90s.

Over the past few days, partly due to the heat, air quality has become an issue for some. For Tuesday, air quality concentrations are a mix of the "moderate" and "unhealthy for sensitive groups" categories. Please be aware of this if you are going to spend extended time outside today. In addition, we are dealing with a high allergy count and haze from seasonal burning in Mexico.

As we head through the rest of the week, Austin will see daily rain chances, however, the rain will be generally isolated. The significant storm chance remains off to our north and west, however, a slight risk, level 2 out of 5, has snuck into the Hill Country for Tuesday and Wednesday, so a couple of storms are not completely off the table.

As for the heat, conditions pick up a bit for this weekend. Highs could touch 100 degrees in select areas, but mostly our "feels like" temperatures will be the cause for concern, those numbers will likely rise between 100-110 degrees. A heat advisory may be issued.
