Mega Millions jackpot winner from Central Texas claims $1M prize money

CREEDMOOR, Texas — Central Texans, one of your neighbors might be $1 million richer!

The winner of a Mega Millions drawing from March 22 -a resident from Niederwald- recently claimed their prize.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was originally sold at a Refuel gas station on FM 1327 in Creedmoor when all five white ball numbers matched accordingly.

The numbers were 3-8-81-35-44 and the prize level was a five of five with a 3x MegaPlier and a 16 Mega Ball. 

Some of the additional Texas Lottery winners on March 22 received $10,000, $500 and $200 prizes. 

Four other $1 million winners that same day purchased their tickets in California, Florida, Illinois, and Nebraska. An additional winner in Virginia received $2 million because of the MegaPlier.

Before the winner from Neiderwald was chosen, the Mega Millions drawing sat at approximately $977 million. 

When does the Mega Millions drawing take place? 

Participants can bet their luck by purchasing tickets and watching the broadcast announcements at 10:12 p.m. CST on Tuesdays and Fridays each week.

What are the largest jackpots in the U.S. to date?

Earlier this week, a person in Oregon claimed a $1.3 billion Powerball jackpot prize.

The winner purchased a single ticket at a convenience store in what was the fourth biggest Powerball jackpot on record, according to the Oregon Lottery.
