WilCo Regional Animal Shelter 'really overcrowded' amid construction

While they are undergoing construction, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is in need of adopters and foster families.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY -- The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter said that though they are currently undergoing construction to expand, they are currently "really, really overcrowded."

Shelter representative Misty Valenta said Thursday that the 85-kennel shelter is currently housing 130 dogs with 70 in foster homes right now. She said that on Wednesday alone they received 13 more dogs.

Valenta said the shelter has been full since February and though they have continued to ask for help, the shelter has taken in a lot of surrenders and strays.

Though they are under construction for expansion and they are expecting more room soon, they are in still in need of foster families and adopters.

As of Thursday, the shelter is offering FREE adoptions for adult dogs and cats.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is located at 1855 S.E. Innerloop in Georgetown, Texas. They are open Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
