Old Settler's Music Fest kicks off larger than ever with new location near Lockhart

The music festival that started off in Round Rock, Texas has a new home near Lockhart, Texas.

TILMON, Texas -- Old Settler's Music Festival attendees will have a little more elbow room at the popular musical event with a new location southeast of Lockhart, Texas in Caldwell County.

According to KVUE's media partners at the Austin American-Statesman, organizers of the 31-year-old music festival were itching to get a new space for the festival, which can host 14,000 to 16,000 people every year. Director Jean Spivey told the Statesman the previous Driftwood location that hosted the festival for 16 years on the Salt Lick Pavillion and Camp McCulloch ground caused them to feel like the festival was "busting at the seams."

The Statesman reports that the new location in Tilmon, Texas is double the size of the previous one in Driftwood, with 145 acres for attendees to listen to live music, chill and camp. Spivey told the Statesman there's ample room in Tilmon to make sure the festival continues on for another 30 years.

With the festival's new location close to Lockhart, attendees can catch one of the many musical acts on the Original Black's BBQ stage. The famous Lockhart restaurant is the new sponsor of the festival's main stage, according to the Statesman. Other stages include the Bluebonnet Stage, "Camp Shhhtimes” stage, and Campground stage -- which will be used for Thursday and Sunday performances.

Old Settler's Music Festival kicks off Thursday, April 19 and runs until Sunday, April 22.

Some notable performers from the 2018 lineup include:

Jamestown Revival

Bob Schneider

Ray Wylie Hubbard
