AUSTIN – People hoping to travel to or from Europe during South by Southwest 2018 will have another option.

Scandinavian Airlines SAS and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport said Tuesday that two nonstop flights will operate between the Swedish and Texas capitals on March 8 and 12, 2018.

“The interest in attending from all the Scandinavian countries has made us aim to make it easier for our passengers to reach the festival. Many of our customers are innovative, creative and very keen on digitization, which is completely in line with what we are doing at SAS,” says Max Knagge, General Manager for SAS Americas in a statement.

The flights will operate on Airbus 330 aircraft with 262 total seats, broken down into 32 fully flat Business Class seats, 56 Plus Class seats and 174 Economy Class seats. Flights will depart Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport (ARN) at 9:20 a.m. March 8 and arrive at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) at 1 p.m. the same day. The return flight will leave Austin at 3 p.m. and arrive in Stockholm at 8:20 a.m. March 9. The March 12 flight will leave Stockholm at 1:50 p.m. and arrive in Austin at 6:40 p.m., with the return flight leaving at 8:40 p.m. and arriving back in Sweden at 1 p.m. the following day.

Delta announced in July that it will offer four nonstop flights between ABIA and Amsterdam’s Airport Schiphol (AMS) during the annual festival.
