The crash occurred around 2 a.m. Thursday.

AUSTIN, Texas — Traffic was backed up on South Interstate 35 and Ben White Boulevard after Austin police investigated a deadly crash on the morning of April 28. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 2:15 a.m. Thursday, Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) said that medics were responding to a possibly fatal crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. By 2:30 a.m., medics had obtained the deceased-on-scene pronouncement.

ATCEMS said at the time that they were evaluating a second patient. That person later refused medical treatment.

On May 9, police reported that the deceased was a pedestrian identified as Pauline Juro, 42. She reportedly crossed from West to East across I-35 when she was struck.

The crash shut down northbound I-35 between exits 228 and 231, from William Cannon to US 290/State Highway 71.
