Police identify man killed in South Austin following parking dispute

Officers were on the scene of the incident near the 500 block of West Oltorf Street, east of South First Street, around 12:45 p.m.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating after a death in South Austin on Sunday afternoon following a parking lot dispute.

Officers were called to the scene near the 500 block of West Oltorf Street, east of South First Street, around 11:20 a.m. after reports of an argument over parking.

When officers arrived, they found one person with injuries and began life-saving measures. The person was taken to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead at 12:23 p.m.

The deceased was identified Tuesday as 52-year-old Lucifer Devil Divinitas.

Based on witness statements, police believe the altercation broke out between a delivery driver and a civilian parking attendant at the strip center parking lot. The delivery driver was stabbed in the incident.

The parking attendant has been interviewed by homicide detectives. This case has been forwarded to the Travis County District Attorney's Office for review.

The cause of death has been ruled a homicide by stabbing. This is Austin's 76th homicide of 2021.
