Hang out with Austin bats Saturday at 2018 Bat Fest

The event will take place at the Congress Bridge in Austin and will feature fun bat activities, arts and crafts, food, live music and a bat costume contest.

AUSTIN — One of the many perks of living in Austin is being able to watch the bats fly out from under the Congress Bridge at dawn.

When the sun sets, roughly 1.5 million Mexican Free-Tailed bats emerge from the bridge, located at 100 South Congress Ave.

To celebrate and admire these nocturnal creatures, Austin will host the 14th Annual Bat Fest Saturday at the Congress Bridge.

The festival will feature fun bat activities, arts and crafts, food and a bat costume contest. This annual event will also feature live music with performances by Baby Bash, Mike Jones, Chingy and more.

Early bird general admission tickets are $15, but tickets can be purchased at the gate for $20. Children under 8 years old are free with an adult admission. VIP tickets are also available. To purchase tickets, click here.
