AUSTIN, Texas — On Wednesday, Austin Urban Music Fest announced its postponement due to coronavirus concerns transpiring in Austin and around the globe.
At this time, many festivals, conferences and other large gatherings have been canceled or postponed amid coronavirus fears.
The fest decided to postpone after closely monitoring the situation and adhering to precautionary measures addressed by the City of Austin.
Austin Urban Music Festival said, "our top priority is the health of our guests who have made the last 15 years a success."
Austin Urban Music Fest stated:
"We would like to take this time to remind you that all ticket sales are final. However, all purchased tickets will be honored on the rescheduled days. If the artist line-up changes from the original slate, "postponed" ticket holders (as of March 10, 2020) will be allowed to transfer their ticket to the modified day."
Other Austin events that have been canceled include South by Southwest and MotoGP Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Rodeo Austin is still set to proceed as usual despite the news Wednesday that Rodeo Houston would be closing.
The City of Austin is now restricting events of 2,500 people or more and is accepting them on a case-by-case basis.
