Light snow and sleet move out, sunshine returns Thursday

Temperatures will be in the 30s for Thursday morning, but in the 50s for the afternoon.

AUSTIN, Texas — Snow in Austin! What a sight to see on Wednesday night. Light accumulations of snow and sleet have been reported over parts of the area, but mainly on grassy areas. Roads are expected to be ice free overnight, with the exception of a possible slick spot on an area bridge or overpass.

The wintry weather has moved out of the area, with skies clearing and temperatures continuing to fall at or below freezing area-wide by sunrise Thursday.

After a cold start in the 20s and 30s on Thursday, expect sunny skies and highs in the 50s for Thursday afternoon.
