AUSTIN, Texas — As of Feb. 28, Camp Mabry in Austin has a surplus of 0.35 inches of rainfall with a monthly total accumulation of 2.29 inches.

Thanks to some healthy showers here and there, drought conditions in Central Texas have significantly improved west of Interstate 35 into the Hill Country with just a couple pockets of severe to extreme drought.

There are a few rain chances possible within the next week due to an approaching cold front. Accumulation rates are expected to range between 0.50 to 0.75 inches with higher amounts approaching one inch.
