Forecast: Isolated showers & storms Tuesday morning; trending warmer mid-week

Here are the latest updates from the KVUE Weather Team.

AUSTIN, Texas — It's another warm, muggy, and breezy start to kick off your Tuesday morning. We're tracking the potential for a few isolated showers and rumbles of thunder for the morning hours as a weak front slowly moves in today from the west. No severe weather is expected, and temperatures start at approximately 70 degrees and warm up into the mid-80s for the afternoon.

Wednesday will be mostly dry, but then our rain chances will be on the rise for the back half of the workweek and weekend. Isolated to scattered storms will be possible Thursday, a few of which could be strong. The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of Central Texas under a "marginal" -level 1 out of 5- risk for Thursday.

Also on Wednesday, we will see a sufficient warming trend as highs leap into the upper 80s. Austin could reach 90 degrees on Thursday. With dewpoints staying high before the weekend front, expect conditions to feel pretty soupy.

A cold front tracking through Saturday night and Sunday morning could give us a shot at more widespread and stronger storms and better rainfall totals, but we will have a better idea of that event later this week. The front will finally bring relief from the humidity and will drop temperatures into the upper 70s Saturday and upper 60s Sunday.
