MANOR, Texas — One person is dead after a crash involving an 18-wheeler in the early hours of Feb. 18 in Manor.

Around 5:20 a.m., an SUV traveling eastbound hit an 18-wheeler turning westbound at the Cedar Street turn-a-round. The driver and front passenger of the SUV were trapped in the vehicle briefly before officers extracted them. 

The front passenger was airlifted to Dell Seton Hospital where the passenger was later pronounced dead. Manor police have identified him as 28-year-old Francisco Reyes Campos, an Austin area resident who is originally from Mexico.

The driver is currently in emergency care at the hospital. 

The passenger in the back of the SUV was taken to Dell Seton with non-life threatening injuries. 

Highway 290 eastbound was briefly shut down and the traffic was diverted at FM 973.
