AUSTIN, Texas — A deadly crash on MoPac Expressway caused officials to close down all southbound lanes on Thursday afternoon.

The Texas Department of Transporation, along with the Austin Police Department, diverted drivers at the frontage road at Braker Lane just before 3:30 p.m.

Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) responded to the scene as well. When medics arrived, they pronounced one adult dead at the scene "as a result of a motorcycle collision."

It is unclear if anyone else was injured or how the crash happened.

All southbound lanes have since been reopened.
