UPDATE: As of 9:20 p.m., Sprint says services have been restored.
Thousands of residents of Texas and Louisiana who get their cell service from Sprint were experiencing outages Monday night, according to downdetector.com.
The company acknowledged the problem on Twitter, saying their teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
People who were able to get online through a wi-fi network or desktop computer quickly took to social media to vent, and also to share when their service was restored.
