The Longhorns' jerseys now feature a Sugar Bowl patch

There is a remote chance Sam Ehlinger may cross paths with the Saints' legendary quarterback, Drew Brees while in New Orleans.

AUSTIN — The Longhorns are geared up with Sugar Bowl swag and will head to New Orleans on Thursday to begin preparations for their date with Georgia on New Year's Day night.

UT's white road jerseys recently received a new addition: the Sugar Bowl logo patch.

The Horns' helmets also received a Sugar Bowl sticker.

With a win over Georgia, Texas would experience the program's first 10-win season since 2009. That season, UT suffered one loss, in the national championship game against Alabama at the Rose Bowl.

While in New Orleans, UT quarterback Sam Ehlinger may have an opportunity to meet fellow Westlake High School quarterback great, Drew Brees.

The current New Orleans Saints quarterback and the Saints host the Carolina Panthers inside the Mercedes Louisiana Superdome -- the site of the Sugar Bowl -- on Sunday, Dec. 30.

When asked about the chances of sharing the same locker as Brees, Ehlinger said, "Oh, I didn't think about that. I doubt we'll be able to stay in their [the Saints] home locker room. But, I didn't think about that. That would be cool."
