SAN ANTONIO — One San Antonio high school football coach has his own solution to see the Super Bowl that could have been.
Joshua Freeman is offering the field at Brooks Collegiate Academy for a game between the Saints and Kansas City Chiefs. He said the 2,000-seat stadium has one of the best views in San Antonio, and it’s hard to argue with him. Located near the intersection of Vance Jackson and Jackson Keller Road on the city’s north side, the stadium offers a view of much of the area around Loop 410, including North Star Mall.
Brooks Collegiate Academy’s football team plays 6-man tackle football and went to state in their first season, Freeman said.
The Saints lost the NFC Championship game Sunday to the Rams, and a controversial decision to not call a penalty on a late incomplete pass was one of the reasons why.
The Chiefs lost to the Patriots in an AFC Championship game that also went to overtime. Since both games were so close, a Saints-Chiefs matchup could have been the Super Bowl instead of the one we’ll see on February 3.
This proposal is a long shot, but it’s hardly the only NFL-related idea making the rounds on the internet Monday.
Freeman is looking to make the offer go viral. You can help make that happen by following him on Instagram.
