AUSTIN, Texas — Another thriller and down-to-the-wire contest out at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Sunday, ending in a walk-off win for the Longhorns, 6-5.
Texas, using its favorable home record as a boost, led 4-2 late in the game but Xavier fought back to take a 5-4 lead in the ninth.
So the pressure was on for the Horns and Tate Shaw in the bottom of the ninth. With two outs, Shaw doubled off the wall in right-center field for a walk-off victory.
Texas sweeps the series with the third walk-off win this season, and second this series.
The Longhorns are 15-4 at home this season.
