St. Edward's men's basketball team gets first NCAA tournament win

March Madness hit the St. Edward's University campus and the Hilltoppers survived, beating Angelo State, 82-81.

AUSTIN, Texas — It was a historic night on the "hilltop" in Austin.

The St. Edward's University men's basketball team picked up their first-ever NCAA tournament win.

The Hilltoppers knocked off Angelo State inside of their home arena. Final score: 82-81.

Three Hilltoppers scored in double figures, with August Haas leading the way with 23 points.

St. Edward's will play in a South Central Region semifinal Saturday night on the St. Edward's University campus. 

Tip-off is 7 p.m.
