WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — Williamson County and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KORTA) will be joining a mutual cooperation agreement this week.
This agreement, which was approved by the Williamson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday, will help support Korean companies in the U.S.
Several Korean semiconductor enterprises are looking at Texas as their next business expansion location. Due to the Semiconductor Support Act (Chips Act) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), expansions of Korean-based companies could become more active.
Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell will sign this agreement at the WeWork Westview at 316 W. 12th Street in Austin on Thursday at 2 p.m.
In addition to Gravell, several other officials will also be present for the signing, including:
- YU Jeong Yeol, CEO of KOTRA
- Young-Ho Jung, counsul general for the Republic of Korea in Houston
- Adriana Cruz, executive director of Texas Economic Development & Tourism
- Russ Boles, Williamson County commissioner for Precinct 4
- Brandt Rydell, mayor of Taylor, Texas
