Plans could lead to wastewater being run through a Williamson County park.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — A plan to take a wastewater line through a park in Williamson County has been rejected by the Williamson County Commissioners Court, according to a tweet from Williamson County on Tuesday.

If the plan would have been approved, a wastewater line would have been un through Berry Springs Park and Preserve near the intersection of Highway 130 and Interstate 35.

The proposal for the plan first surfaced last year, but needed approval from the county commissioners to move forward. Residents in the area fought it, claiming it would impact the beauty of the park.

The city claimed it needed the line to deal with the development north of Berry creek and Jarrell.
