Some neighborhood groups and business owners are trying to stop the strip club from moving into the north end of the Lincoln Village Shopping Center.

The Highland /Skyview Neighborhood Plan Contact Team, made up of business owner and neighborhood associations, tried to challenge the club's liquor license application. But in a 4-3vote, Austin City Council members Sheryl Cole, Lee Leffingwell, Mike Martinez and Mayor Will Wynndecided the residents did not have the standing to challenge the license.

"I was very angry immediately after the vote," said Damon Howze, chairman of the Highland/Skyview Neighborhood Plan Contact Team. " We are very disappointed that they took away our rights to appeal by calling us an administrative body of the city."

The four member majority were acting on the recommendation from city staff that determined that the new location met city codes.

Three years ago the city shut down the club because it violated city codes by being within 1,000 feet of a school.
