Vote Texas: Voter turnout for early voting in Austin runoff elections very low

Less than 3% of the registered voters for Travis County participated in early voting for the joint special runoff elections.

AUSTIN — After the November elections, Travis County had a few races go to a runoff, but looking at the numbers from early voting you may think voters have forgotten the joint special runoff election is going on.

Early voting was last week and only 2.71% of registered voters cast their ballot, which is less than 18-thousand voters.

Tomorrow is the joint special runoff election day and voters have five runoffs to make a decision on.

Votes will be cast for Place 8, ACC Trustee, Austin Community College District, Austin City Council Districts 1, 3 and 8, and Austin Independent School Board Trustee, Position 9.
