UT baseball may face Aggies in Austin Regional

Is it time to reinstate the rivalry both sides deny?

AUSTIN -- The Texas baseball program's 59th appearance in the NCAA Tournament will begin at Disch-Falk Field against Texas Southern on Friday in the Austin Regional.

Saturday's winners and losers bracket games of the 4-team double-elimination regional tournament may include a renewal of a rivalry -- a rivalry both schools deny. The Longhorns and Aggies have met on the baseball field since Texas A&M left the Big 12 for the SEC. In fact, the two met in College Station back in April. The Aggies won, 6-5.

The Longhorns watched the NCAA Selection Show from their locker room at Disch-Falk Field this morning.
