A man died after a vehicle collision near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Saturday night and two suspects were arrested after failing to render aid, police confirmed to KVUE Monday.

DPS officials said the collision happened on FM 973 just before 10 p.m. A man in his 40s, identified as Francisco Carmona Zamora, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

According to preliminary investigation, the DPS said Zamora's vehicle was traveling south on FM 973, traveled off the roadway onto the improved shoulder, overcorrected traveling back onto FM 973 entering a side skid into the southbound lane when another vehicle struck Zamora's on the front right side, causing Zamora to be ejected.

After taking off from the crash and being found by Travis County Sheriff's deputies near the intersection of FM 973 and FM 969, brothers Jose Victor Juarez, 28, and Ruben Juarez-Argote, 29, were taken to the hospital to receive treatment for their injuries and later taken into custody. Jose Victor Juarez stated he drank four 12-ounce Bud Lights after work and two more before leaving his home.

After being released from the hospital, both were charged with failure to stop and render aid resulting in death for their alleged role in the crash. Jose was also charged with driving while intoxicated after their vehicle struck Zamora's pickup.
