One of America's most beloved actors will be making a pit stop in Austin this fall.
Presenting his new collection of short stories, "Uncommon Type," the Texas Book Festival announced Tuesday that Tom Hanks will be appearing at the festival sponsored by Texas Capital Bank.
The Texas Book Festival said Hanks will appear in conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning Texas author Lawrence Wright, and Alamo Drafthouse will livestream the event to participating theaters around the country.
The festival is scheduled to take place Nov. 4 and 5 in and around the State Capitol grounds in downtown Austin. Tickets to see Hanks and Lawrence's conversation, which include a copy of the book, are now available on the Texas Book Festival website here. Hanks' appearance will be on Nov. 4 at 4:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
In "Uncommon Type," the festival said Hanks crafts 17 surprising, intelligent and heartwarming stories that are a must-read for Hanks fans and regular readers alike.
