LOCKHART, Texas — Officials are investigating after a crash Thursday morning involving an 18-wheeler and several motorcycles killed one person and sent another to the hospital.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 9:45 a.m. on Toll 130 four miles north of Lockhart

One person was killed, one was injured and transported to the hospital, and five people were uninjured, the DPS said.

Officials said a 2012 Peterbuilt TTST was traveling northbound in the outside lane of Toll 130 when its front left tire had a blowout. The semi then veered into the inside lane striking a motorcycle that was attempting to pass it. The driver of the motorcycle and its passenger were both ejected, with the driver being pronounced dead on scene.

The passenger, the driver's wife, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The deceased was identified as Raul Granby, 56.
