Thousands want Leander ISD school named after Vista Ridge player killed in crash

Weeks after Myles Hutcheson died in a car crash in Cedar Park, his friends and family are asking that a new Leander ISD school be named after him.

Thousands of people are trying to keep the memory of a Cedar Park teen alive after his tragic death.

On Monday, Dec. 3, Vista Ridge High School junior Myles Hutcheson died in a car accident on Brushy Creek Road. Hutcheson played for the Vista Ridge basketball team, and since his death, a movement has been started with the hashtag, "#LLM." It means "live or love like Myles."

There is now a petition to name an upcoming school with Leander Independent School District after him. The petition started Sunday and already has more than 5,700 names. Stephanie Jagen presented it at the Leander ISD board meeting Thursday night. Jagen said students from other schools in the district have also shown their support for the idea.
