SAN MARCOS, Texas — The San Marcos Police and Fire Department recovered the body of missing Texas State student Kate Rose Silva Xavier on Nov. 2.
Xavier had been missing since October 25.
According to the City of San Marcos, the San Marcos Police Department received a call at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 from a hiker reporting a possible deceased person in the Blanco River near the 1400 block of River Road. The San Marcos Fire Department also responded to assist police in recovering the body.
The death is being investigated as a suicide. The investigation is ongoing.
