Temple police continue search for missing duo after vehicle discovered in Austin

The search for two missing people from Temple continues after their vehicle was discovered in Austin.

AUSTIN — Temple police are searching for 28-year-old Jenna Scott and her friend, 32-year-old Michael Swearingin. They were last heard from on Jan. 4, around 3 a.m. according to investigators.

The two drove from Temple to Austin where they were said to be visiting friends. Austin police found the car they were last seen in, a gray Hyundai Genesis.

Jenna's brother, Talon Scott, says his sister is in danger.

"I believe that my sister is being held hostage somewhere. Time is of the essence. I believe this is a very serious situation," said Talon.

According to court documents, Jenna Scott filed a protective order against an ex-boyfriend in July of last year. Temple police would not confirm whether or not the ex-boyfriend is a suspect in the disappearance.

Scott's family said they are worried. They say she missed her nine-year-old daughter's birthday party Saturday and that she had planned the whole thing.

Their families are raising money to hire private investigators and more search efforts.

They say it's a really hard time for the family, but they are thankful for the community's support.

"The amount of support we've received ... oh, God. I can't believe the community has surrounded us with so much love and compassion and generosity," said Scott.

Temple police say if you have any information, to please call them at 254-298-5500.
