Man taken into custody after SWAT situation on Sweeney Lane near Manor Road

AUSTIN, Texas — A man is in custody after an approximately four-hour SWAT call Sunday night into early Monday morning, the Austin Police Department said.

APD said a call came in at around 8:17 p.m. Sunday for an aggravated assault incident in the 2900 block of Sweeney Lane, near Manor Road. A subject was believed to have barricaded himself into an apartment in the area.

APD's SWAT team responded, and investigators were able to make contact with the subject. He was taken into custody without incident at around 12:20 a.m. 

APD said this was an isolated incident with no further threat to the public. Family violence detectives are investigating the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
