AUSTIN -- A man suspected of drunken driving crashed into the Central Health Southeast & Wellness Center early Monday morning.

According to Central Health, the accident occurred around 1:30 a.m., but there were no patients or staff members inside the building. Officials said the crash damaged a non-clinical meeting room and part of the exterior of the building, but the health center located at 2901 Montopolis Drive opened as usual on Monday morning and services were uninterrupted.

The clinic said that police arrived on scene within minutes and arrested the male driver, while his female passenger was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Central Health will be coordinating cleanup and repairs with CommUnityCare, which operates the health clinic inside the facility.

Due to the crash, Monday's Community Conversation meeting will be moved to the Central Health main office at 1111 E. Cesar Chavez Street from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Click here for more information.
