AUSTIN — A man has been arrested after he allegedly cut a woman near the University of Texas campus during a fight Monday night, police said.
According to the Austin Police Department, the man accidentally cut the woman's arm on 27th Street and Whitis Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. Police identified the suspect as Evan Lee Smith, 54.
Smith has been charged with disorderly conduct and his bond is set at $7,500, according to online records.
The woman is recovering from minor injuries in a hospital and is expected to be OK, police said.
Campus police said the incident started after a fight between three people.
Authorities said none of the people involved are affiliated with the university.
Smith is in police custody as of Tuesday afternoon, according to online records.
