Sgt. Thumann and his K9 Lobos made the bust Wednesday.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas -- Sgt. Randy Thumann and his trusty K9 partner, Lobos, have made another drug bust.

On Wednesday, Thumann and Lobos stopped a Nissan Murano on Interstate 10 at the 672 mile-marker at approximately 11:38 a.m. for a traffic violation. Thumann spoke with the driver -- identified as Felipe De Jesus Mendez Ramos, 29 -- and his wife, who allegedly gave conflicting details when talking about their travel plans. Thumann said he became suspicious that they were involved in taking drugs from Mexico to Houston.

After searching their vehicle, Lobos sniffed out about 27 kilos of methamphetamines in the gas tank. The drugs are worth about $2.7 million.

Ramos was arrested for drug possession, a felony.
